The 3rd Annual Celebration in Remembrance of the Life and Work of The Father of the Tanzanian Nation, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere was held at the Howard University Towers Auditorium on October 16th 2010.
This event is hosted annually by the Julius K. Nyerere Commemoration, Inc. of Washington DC. JKNC, Inc. is founded and largely sponsored by an African American couple; Ndugu and Mrs. Rick Tingling-Clemmons, whose love for Mwalimu and admiration for his works and philosophy inspired them to organize this worthy event in his name. The theme this year is in concurrence with Mwalimu's core values… "Fighting Poverty, Ignorance and Disease".
